This model year, Harley-Davidson produced several factory custom bikes with the same basic theme – darkness. Before you break out the crucifixes and holy water, please understand that these bikes aren’t actually evil… they just look like they might be. The six “Dark Custom” models (Cross Bones, Nightster, Night Rod Special, Street Bob, Fat Bob, and Night Train) all have the decidedly stripped-down custom appearance borrowed from backstreet alley and shade tree mechanics – along with a little bit of badness thrown in for good measure. The Cross Bones like the one featured here has a Springer front end, mini ape-hanger handlebars, sprung solo seat, and a chopped front fender, but other innovative touches like a ridged-mounted black and polished 1584 cc Twin Cam 96B engine, six-speed transmission, 200 mm rear tire and a unique Softail suspension. You can check it out on Thunder Creek Harley-Davidson’s showroom floor, but hurry. They’re going fast!

Our beautiful Biker Chick this month is a busy woman. Amanda is one of our favorite Chattanooga Hooters Girls, and has been featured in several local calendars and advertisements, and has signed on this year as a Thunder On The Rock “Thunderette!” That means, not only can you meet her in person at the Thunder On The Rock rally in Monteagle, TN Memorial Day weekend (be sure to get your Road Rash Magazine autographed), but in the meantime, you can check out pics of her and several other Thunderettes at http://www.thunderontherockonline.com!

Special thanks goes out to Glenn Matthews (Thunder On The Rock) for introducing us to Amanda, HippyChicKim (RandomFox.com) for submitting the photos, and to Thunder Creek Harley-Davidson for providing the cover bike and location!
