Make/Model: 2001 Harley-Davidson Heritage Softail Springer
Engine: 88 cubic inch H-D
Owners: Heath and Paula Dunn – Cleveland, TN
Paint: Heath and Paula Dunn – Cleveland, TN
The bike we have featured this month is unusual. But you wouldn’t you expect anything else from someone who has been into custom cars and trucks as much as owners Heath and Paula Dunn have. Their custom show truck has been featured on the covers of numerous magazines. However, Heath says they’ve recently lost interest in four-wheelers and have really gotten into motorcycles. Heath and Paula have done a great job with what started off life as a Softail Springer. Upon close examination, you’ll not only notice every piece of chrome that has been made available, but a lot of hard work and attention to detail you rarely see. I would say what you see here is the “end result,” but I happen to know Heath has already changed out the wheels, exhaust and several other things on this bike since this shoot. Apparently, the custom paint, hopped up engine, 15-inch “ape hanger” handlebars, or the custom fabricated brackets made to install the Road King saddlebags weren’t enough… Of course, a true project bike is never done.
They just don’t make ‘em like our cover model Melisa anymore. With her bright smile and those long legs, I’m sure she’s turned more than her fair share of heads. To her credit, I’ve heard the weather was insanely cold during this photoshoot – but you sure can’t tell it by looking at the pictures. Great job!
Special thanks goes out to Abra Autobody and Glass in Cleveland for allowing Heath to use their facilities to complete this bike’s paint job, Melisa for braving the cold (see above), and to Bill McCord (
